Purpose of Use
The flag is intended for personal or community display and should be used respectfully. The city encourages other City of Selkirk flag owners to lower their flags to half-mast when the City of Selkirk lowers their flags. This is done as a visual display of respect, mourning, or commemoration.
Prohibited Uses
The flag may not be altered, defaced, or used in any manner that is hateful, discriminatory, defamatory, political, commercial (i.e. resale for profit), or otherwise harmful to the reputation of the City of Selkirk.
Ownership and Reproduction
Purchase of a flag does not grant the buyer any rights to reproduce, duplicate, or use the City of Selkirk’s logo or branding for any other purpose. The City’s flag design remains the property of the City of Selkirk.
Care and Display
Buyers are encouraged to display and care for the flag responsibly. The City is not liable for any damage to the flag after purchase due to weather, handling, or misuse.
Returns and Exchanges
All flag sales are final. Returns or exchanges will only be accepted if the flag is defective or damaged at the time of purchase. Proof of purchase and damage is required.
Right to Refuse Sale
The City of Selkirk reserves the right to refuse the sale of flags to individuals or organizations that do not align with these terms or where use may be deemed inappropriate or harmful to the City’s image or community values.
